Titus' high ethical business standards

Titus' high ethical business standards

Between 17 and 20 November 2020, we successfully passed, without non-conformities and without observations, a new SMETA audit. This enables our company to continue cooperating with important customers from the furniture industry and consumer appliances.

Responsible sourcing is in the spotlight now more than ever. New ethical trade legislation is constantly being introduced in various countries and consumer awareness has grown, and these are driving factors of Sedex’s success. Consumers expect transparency and they expect businesses to be undertaking ethical and sustainable purchasing decisions.

Titus Group has always been committed to adhering to high ethical business standards. Guaranteeing the commitments and compliance of Titus’ operations is verified by internal and external audits. The first external assessment in this area was carried out by Ikea 15 years ago. Since then, we have been developing our criteria and improving our performance.

In 2018, we joined the international organization SEDEX, which is one of the world’s leading ethical trade service providers. The objective of over 60,000 organizations, members of SEDEX, from 180 countries is to improve working conditions and reduce environmental impacts in global supply chains. In the same year, we successfully passed the first external SMETA audit (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit), followed in a year by an external audit under a very similar ICS scheme (Initiative for Compliance and Sustainability).

This year’s assessment differed from the previous one because it was carried out remotely. The auditor also examined in great detail the adherence to labour legislation.
The full audit report will be available to SEDEX members on the SEDEX portal. This enables our company to continue cooperating with important customers from the furniture industry and consumer appliances.

Thanks and appreciation go to all employees who co-create the work environment and results.
